So, in case you’re wondering “Why is a professor getting into the Health Coaching business?”
Well, a little about me.
After returning from living and teaching in Mexico in 2011, I noticed there were some things that just wasn’t right. I had gained quite a bit of weight for my small frame. People kept saying “It looks good on you because you’re always so small” and the list goes on. I knew better though. It didn’t feel good. I was having problems with my digestive system, my blood pressure was high and then there was the gas issue. No need to explain that. It wasn’t pleasant. LOL. That’s always a sign that something is wrong with your digestion.
I had always eaten healthy, but I’m a Foodie, so trying new foods, and “getting off the healthy wagon” was not uncommon to me.
I had eliminated white sugar about 5 years before and started just using honey or brown sugar and no longer drank regular milk or ate regular cheese. I LOVE cheese! So, I started on my path by contacting a Nutritionist, finding a different doctor—an Osteopathic doctor (https://www.sgu.edu/blog/medical/md-versus- do/)
This was a life changing moment.
My consultation with my Nutritionist was more than I expected and really life changing. My change of doctor experience though, was a little more challenging. I went with one doctor, but found he was good, but still a “pill-popper prescriber”.
Then I found Dr. Park! Yep! He practices Eastern and Western medicine together. I have made several changes, claimed some victories, relapsed some, but still on my path.
This is what I would love to help you to do. I would love to help you make life-changing decisions that will make your health journey a success.
Travel
I’m also a traveler. I love to travel.
Traveling and speaking Foreign languages are passions of mine.
Traveling to other countries really opened my eyes as a Foodie and just gave me more of an appreciation of how even in my own native country, every plant and vegetable is used for food.
However, in some instances, the process of cooking those foods are not necessarily healthy for us. I’ve learned how to change that in my own cooking. I would love to help you do that.
A cardiologist on the Dr. Oz show stated that “Food is our Medicine.” This statement is now used constantly in the Health and Wellness industry. It is a fact. Also, the American College of Sports Medicine along with the American Medical Association developed the practice: “Exercise Is Medicine”. They work together.
I can help you to do this. It has changed my life. I would love to help you practice both to change yours.
